Sound Mirrors is the first full length album from Coldcut in nearly 8 years. I’m normally not a fan of Electronica, but the hip hop beats and intriguing mixes are engaging. The LP features the vocal talents of Jon Spencer, Roots Manuva, Mike Ladd and many others.

Dean Gray’s American Edit is a mashup of Green Day’s new album American Idiot. Only 10 days after it’s release, Green Day’s label, Warner Records, despite the fact that Edit was released as an internet only release with no commercial gain, sent a cease and desist to Gray. The shutdown of his site and fan outrage led to “Gray Tuesday,” a social protest in which websites illegally hosted the mp3s for a day. The album itself is a unique, creative and addictive.
